What I adore about Sesame Chocolate Toffees is how versatile they are. The nutty sesame seeds provide a delightful crunch, while the banana adds natural sweetness. The chocolate filling? Pure decadence! These toffees are perfect for a quick dessert, a party snack, or even a homemade gift.

The Nutritional Power of White Sesame Seeds

White sesame seeds are small but mighty when it comes to nutrition. They are rich in essential vitamins and minerals that support overall health:

  • Calcium: Essential for strong bones and teeth.

  • Iron: Helps in maintaining healthy blood and energy levels.

  • Magnesium and Zinc: Crucial for muscle function and immunity.

  • B Vitamins: These aid in metabolism and provide sustained energy.

  • Healthy Fats and Fiber: Sesame seeds are packed with dietary fiber, which promotes digestion and keeps you feeling full for longer.

The blend of these nutrients makes sesame seeds an excellent addition to any recipe, especially one as tasty as Sesame Chocolate Toffees!

Sesame Chocolate Toffees | Hot Air Fryer? No Problem!

For an even quicker and more energy-efficient option, you can use a hot air fryer instead of an oven. Simply set the air fryer to 180°C (356°F) and bake the sesame bites for 8–10 minutes until they turn golden brown. It’s a fantastic way to save time while achieving the same delicious results.

Variations I Enjoy

  1. Nutty Add-Ons: Sometimes, I mix crushed almonds or walnuts into the sesame dough for added texture.

  2. Spiced Flavor: A pinch of cinnamon or cardamom in the dough brings a warm, aromatic twist.

  3. White Chocolate: For a sweeter treat, I swap dark chocolate with white chocolate.

  4. Vegan Delight: I use dairy-free chocolate to make these completely plant-based.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana

  • 1.5 cups of white sesame seeds

  • 250 g of chocolate

icon spoon

Instruction:

  1. Preparing the Base:

I start by mashing the banana until it’s smooth. Then, I mix in the sesame seeds until the mixture comes together like a sticky dough.

  2. Shaping the Toffees:

Using an ice cream scoop, I form small half-spheres and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. With the back of a spoon, I gently press into each one to create a small hollow.

  3. Baking the Sesame Bites:

I bake them at 180°C (356°F) for about 10–15 minutes, just until they turn golden and aromatic.

  4. Melting the Chocolate:

While the sesame bites cool, I melt the chocolate using a double boiler. Once the bites are ready, I fill the hollows with the silky, melted chocolate.

  5. Setting and Serving:

Finally, I chill the toffees in the fridge for at least an hour. Once set, they’re ready to enjoy!

Serving Suggestions

I usually serve Aloo Capsicum with freshly made chapatis or parathas. A spoonful of plain yogurt complements the dish perfectly by balancing the heat. On days when I crave a full meal, I pair it with simple dal and rice for a wholesome Indian spread.
